Feet - Illustration Friday

A bridge for those with rivers to cross.

I was on holiday recently and sketched my feet and the the bridge comes from looking at many Chinese paintings. I am taken in by the principles of Chinese art where the composition is based on the ebb & flow of opposite strands which relate to each other.

This really creates a mood, and I like the thought process that inspired it. The composition is cool...drawing us forward to the bridge. Good one:>

I like the direction from the feet through the bridge.

Excellent work! I can see the relationship to some great Japanese painters, such as Hiroshige and Hokusai - were these among your inspirations?

The clean light/dark, vertical/horizontal, straight/curved contrasts would really well. What a great picture!
